Free Money and a New Lens

This weekend there was an awesome photography expo held at McBain Camera. Zac and I woke up extra early (4:30 am) to be first in line. The first 64 people in line received a $20 – $300 gift certificate. There was no way we were going to pass up the opportunity to get some free money!  For the event McBain’s put on some awesome sales for a ton of their products. Taking advantage of the amazing deals was another opportunity I was not going to pass up. Happily I added a Canon 55-250mm lens to my collection because my previous zoom was not cutting it anymore.

Yesterday the skies finally cleared so I got the chance to bring out my new lens for a shoot in the woods, the first of many I am sure. It was a great day out in the woods. It was wonderful to be able to take photographs and not have to crop them at all. I am proud to say the crop size of every photo in this post is as shot. We saw all of our regular bird friends and it was a joy to be able to take such close up pictures of them. Check in tomorrow to see the awesome new bird the came by!
